Anne was spotted leaving earlier today the “Watch What Happens Live” studios in New York, and you can find now pictures in our gallery.
Anne visited last night The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, to promote Colossal. Amazing as usual, she talked about an outing to a playground earlier in the day that almost ended in injury.
I took Jonathan to a park… and he loves swings, and I noticed all these other kids were coming down the slide. It looked like an unusual slide,’ she explained. ‘Like, maybe it was built before they had child safety measures in place. It was gorgeous and I noticed the kids weren’t going that fast so I said, “OK, I’ll bring Johnny on.”
I [pulled my] skirt around me and I put Johnny there and we are going down the slide and now the moms are watching, but what I hadn’t thought about was physics.
‘So we just go around the corner and instead of slowing down like the other kids we speed up,’ she explained. ‘It starts to go so fast and all the moms are watching and I’m so self-conscious. As it speeds up my thoughts slow down and I just look ahead and I get very serious and very focused and just think, “I must stick this landing.”‘
‘You know when you almost killed your child, but you didn’t. In the inside you’re like, “Everything’s OK. Walk it off, walk it off,”‘ she continued. ‘Then we went back to the swings and stayed there forever.’

There is a lot going on in Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis’ new movie — which is why, over two years after filming Colossal, the actors are still having a tricky time nailing down exactly what it’s about. Hathaway plays Gloria, a hard-partying writer who moves back to her hometown after losing her job and boyfriend (Dan Stevens). She spends her time getting sloshed at childhood friend Oscar’s (Sudeikis) bar. And then shit gets weird when Gloria realizes she has something to do with the gigantic Kaiju monster she sees on the news attacking Seoul, South Korea. Really weird.
With its bizarre premise and unpredictable screenplay (from Spanish writer-director Nacho Vigilando), Colossal is a thrillingly original ride. It’s also a wonky vehicle for discussions about everything from toxic masculinity and sexism to alcoholism and self-destructive demons: a philosophical stoner’s dream.
While the movie itself is, in one obvious way, completely absurd, it never spins out into the stratosphere of ridiculousness, thanks to the thoroughly believable performances from Hathaway and Sudeikis. They are by turns charming and repulsive, brave and vulnerable. So we sat down with the pair to talk about the gospel of Kristen Stewart, what it actually means for a film to be “feminist,” and the unintentionally brilliant ways their new movie reflects what’s going on in the world right now.
Anne Hathaway continued her promo tour for ‘Colossal,’ attending the film’s premiere in LA on Tuesday (April 4). As with the New York premiere, she donned an all-black ensemble in a Vivienne Westwood Red Label Spring 2014 cropped jumpsuit. Check pictures added in our gallery.
Last night Anne attended the Colossal premiere in New York City. She was looking stunning in a colossal (HA!) Armani dress.
The sci-fi comedy is about the down on her luck Gloria, who moves back to her hometown after losing her job and splitting from her boyfriend in NYC. Upon her return to small town living, she notices a strange connection between herself and a larger-than-life monster terrorizing Seoul, Korea.
The quirky sci-fi is also unique as the first release from crowd-funded, fan-owned studio Legion M.
Colossal arrives in theaters April 7.
Anne is gracing the cover of Elle magazine in its April US issue. In the magazine, on newsstands everywhere March 22, she speaks with Lauren Waterman about her marriage, motherhood, and her evolution as an actor and an artist.
