“I’m here tonight in support of Dr. Beth Karlan and the Women’s Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, as well as all of those who in one way or another have been touched by cancer—a number I know we all agree is far too high. I’m so excited we’re all here to watch that number drop,” began the Oscar winner and host of the 9th Annual Pink Party at the benefit Saturday night in Santa Monica.
“Now, before the evening kicks off I would like to acknowledge and thank the amazing Elyse Walker for her dedication to the cause and for building this remarkable event,” Hathaway, serving as emcee of the event for the first time, said.
She had previously said on the red carpet that she got involved with the cause after a friend of hers had battled cancer and Hathaway had asked “if there was ever anything I could do to support the organization that was supporting her that I hope she wouldn’t hesitate to ask.”

Other celebs to star in the documentary ‘Letters to Jackie,’ include Viola Davis, Anne Hathaway, Michelle Williams, Betty White and Zooey Deschanel, the New York Post reported.
The actors, who will be seen reading 20 letters out of over 800,000 condolence letters sent to his widow, Jackie Onassis, will be joined by filmmaker Bill Couturie at the documentary’s premiere at the Kennedy Presidential Library on September 17 in Boston.
According to The Playlist, Matt Damon has signed for a minor role on Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
The Playlist has learned that Matt Damon has joined Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” in a small, undisclosed role. The character, like all of the roles in the film, is being kept under wraps, but sources close to the actor tell us he’ll only be shooting on the project for two weeks in Iceland (for comparison sake, the entire shoot is scheduled for four months).
Edmonton Journal – Matthew McConaughey, Michael Caine, Jessica Chastain and Casey Affleck are all expected to spend at least part of the next month in Alberta as director Christopher Nolan begins a unit shoot for his big-budget science-fiction film in small towns under a veil of secrecy.
Interstellar, the latest from the director of the Dark Knight Rises, will shoot starting next Tuesday until Sept. 9 in various locations in southern Alberta, including Nanton, Okotoks, Longview and Lethbridge.
The film also stars Academy Award-winner Anne Hathaway, but sources tell the Herald that the actress will not be here for the Alberta shoot. McConaughey, who plays the protagonist of the film, is expected to be in Alberta for most of the unit shoot.
No one would talk on the record about the secretive production, which is set to be released on Nov. 7, 2014.
Director Christopher Nolan is preparing to shoot his new science film Interstellar and more names has been added to his ensemble.
THR says that Mackenzie Foy, who played Bella and Edward’s daughter in the final Twilight movies, has been cast in an unspecified role. TheWrap adds that Homeland actor Timothee Chalamet, who played the Vice President’s son on the Showtime series, has also been cast in an unspecified role, and Ellen Burstyn (The Exorcist, Requiem for a Dream) has also joined the cast.
A space adventure about wormhole travel between dimensions, Interstellar is written by Christopher Nolan, based on a previous screenplay by brother Jonathan Nolan. It’s slated for release November 7, 2014.
