The Hollywood Reporter: Creating the Right Red Carpet Look

As part of the Hollywood Reporter: Beauty Issue, here’s a video with Anne and make-up artist Kate Lee on creating the right red carpet look.

The Chanel dress for the Globes, the white Chanel dress, that was one of my favorites,” says Lee. “It just looked perfect on her and I loved it. We didn’t do an awful lot of makeup, but for me it is always the full picture for what is appropriate for the event and what is appropriate for the outfit.”

‘Letters to Jackie’ to premiere on TLC on November 17

ltjThe movie about President John F. Kennedy based on the book “Letters to Jackie: Condolences From a Grieving Nation” by Ellen Fitzpatrick, professor of history at the University of New Hampshire, will premiere nationwide on TLC at 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17.

The film debuts as an exclusive television event on TLC to mark the 50th anniversary of the president’s assassination. The documentary is based on Fitzpatrick’s book, which examines the extraordinary collection of letters sent to First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy following the president’s assassination and creates a moving portrait of the nation’s grief from such a cross-section of American life.

Twenty A-list celebrities have lent their recognizable voices to give life to these letters from everyday Americans, including a polio-stricken 13-year-old who offers words of strength for the first lady, a Peace Corps volunteer who mourns the loss while stationed in Ethiopia and an African American woman who expressed her pride and gratitude for President Kennedy’s work in the civil rights movement.

The participating talent includes Bérénice Bejo, Demián Bichir, Jessica Chastain, Chris Cooper, Viola Davis, Zooey Deschanel, Kirsten Dunst, Anne Hathaway, Allison Janney, John Krasinski, Melissa Leo, Laura Linney, Frances McDormand, Chloë Grace Moretz, Mark Ruffalo, Octavia Spencer, Hailee Steinfeld, Channing Tatum, Betty White, and Michelle Williams.

TLC website has a sneak peek of the movie, that can’t be embed, but be sure to check out.

Gallery Update: The Pink Party and Victory Fund Champagne Brunch

“I’m here tonight in support of Dr. Beth Karlan and the Women’s Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, as well as all of those who in one way or another have been touched by cancer—a number I know we all agree is far too high. I’m so excited we’re all here to watch that number drop,” began the Oscar winner and host of the 9th Annual Pink Party at the benefit Saturday night in Santa Monica.

“Now, before the evening kicks off I would like to acknowledge and thank the amazing Elyse Walker for her dedication to the cause and for building this remarkable event,” Hathaway, serving as emcee of the event for the first time, said.

She had previously said on the red carpet that she got involved with the cause after a friend of hers had battled cancer and Hathaway had asked “if there was ever anything I could do to support the organization that was supporting her that I hope she wouldn’t hesitate to ask.”
